‘Ro­man­tic Heaven’ shines

SOUTH Korean di­rec­tor Jang Jin’s movie Ro­man­tic Heaven has won an award at a film fest held in Iran, mak­ing it the only do­mes­tic fea­ture to do so.

Ro­man­tic Heaven won the pres­ti­gious Crys­tal Si­morgh for bestscript at the In­ter­na­tional Cinema Com­pe­ti­tion dur­ing the Fajr In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val in Tehran.

The movie, which opens in the­atres in South Korea next month fol­lows the story of Min-kyu (played by ac­tor Kim Suro) and his wife Mimi (Kim Ji-won).

It also stars Kim Dong-wook who de­cides to help his grand­fa­ther find his first love.

Into its 30th edi­tion this year, the Fajr In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val (Feb 1-11) fea­tured movies from coun­tries such as Canada, France, Spain, Nor­way, Swe­den and Bri­tain.

Sev­eral for­eign pic­tures from China, Ja­pan, South Korea and Turkey had been se­lected to com­pete at the Asian Cinema Sec­tion of the fest. – Reuters
