You can now Njoi free satel­lite tele­vi­sion

ASTRO’S newly-launched sub­scrip­tion-free satel­lite TV ser­vice, Njoi (pro­nounced en­joy), is now avail­able for all con­sumers na­tion­wide.

To en­joy the ser­vice, users will need to pur­chase an Astro set-top box which comes with an Out-door Unit (ODU) satel­lite dish, smart­card and a re­mote con­trol. The bun­dle costs RM288 and users will also be charged a RM100 in­stal­la­tion fee.

At the mo­ment, users will be able to ac­cess to up to 18 TV and 19 ra­dio chan­nels that are ded­i­cated to par­tic­u­lar in­ter­ests such as ed­u­ca­tion, news, drama, travel, doc­u­men­tary and many more with no monthly sub­scrip­tion or con­tract.

These chan­nels in­clude, Astro Tu­tor TV UPSR, PMR and SPM, as well as Astro Prima, Astro Oa­sis, Ber­nama TV, TV1, TV2, Hitz.fm, Ra­dio Kenyalang and ERA.FM.

More chan­nels will be added in the fu­ture, an­nounced the com­pany. Cus­tomers can look for­ward to buy­ing ad­di­tional con­tent through a pre­paid mech­a­nism, which will be made avail­able by the mid­dle of the year.

Ac­cord­ing to Astro chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer Henry Tan, the in­tro­duc­tion of Njoi seeks to re­de­fine the free TV land­scape, as view­ers will get to ex­pe­ri­ence a greater va­ri­ety and more in-depth pro­gram­ming in a free TV ser­vice. ++++ www.njoi.com.my
