in­ter­na­tional Med­i­cal Univer­sity (iMU), Malaysia’s first and most es­tab­lished pri­vate med­i­cal and health care univer­sity with over 21 years of ded­i­cated fo­cus in health care ed­u­ca­tion, will be open­ing its doors to school coun­sel­lors, prospec­tive stu­dents, par­ents and any­one in­ter­ested in med­i­cal or health sciences stud­ies to its open Day on Jan 12.

the open Day will be from 10am till 4pm and pro­vides the op­por­tu­nity to find out about the univer­sity and its pro­grammes, ex­pe­ri­ence univer­sity life and meet the cur­rent stu­dents, fac­ulty and staff.

tak­ing place at the univer­sity’s cam­pus in Bukit Jalil, the day is an ex­cel­lent op­por­tu­nity for you to ob­tain per­sonal coun­selling on iMU’s newly in­tro­duced pre-univer­sity pro­gramme – Foun­da­tion in Science, un­der­grad­u­ate and post­grad­u­ate pro­grammes.

Stu­dents who have just com­pleted the SPM and who do not have pre-univer­sity qual­i­fi­ca­tions can take this op­por­tu­nity to find out about the univer­sity’s Foun­da­tion in Science, the pre­ferred foun­da­tion that pro­vides di­rect route for en­try into any of the univer­sity’s lo­cal de­gree pro­grammes.

a one-year pro­gramme con­ducted in three semesters, the Foun­da­tion in Science will be of­fered at iMU’s main cam­pus in Bukit Jalil, Kuala lumpur.

at this open Day, stu­dents can also find out about schol­ar­ships avail­able for school­leavers. iMU does not only of­fer un­der­grad­u­ate pro­grammes in medicine and health sciences, in­clud­ing pro­grammes in com­ple­men­tary medicine such as Chi­nese medicine and chi­ro­prac­tic, it also of­fers post­grad­u­ate pro­grammes in med­i­cal and health sciences (by re­search), pub­lic health, an­a­lyt­i­cal and phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal chem­istry, for­mu­la­tion science and molec­u­lar medicine.

the open Day will also in­clude a range of ac­tiv­i­ties such as talks, in­ter­ac­tive demon­stra­tions from fac­ulty mem­bers and stu­dents and the op­por­tu­nity to find out more about all as­pects of higher ed­u­ca­tion such as ap­ply­ing to the univer­sity, ac­com­mo­da­tion, fees, schol­ar­ships, fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance, ca­reer de­vel­op­ment and em­ploy­a­bil­ity.

Cur­rent stu­dents will be on hand to act as “am­bas­sadors” through­out the day, help­ing visi­tors find their way around the univer­sity and lead­ing tours around the Bukit Jalil cam­pus.

the stu­dent-led cam­pus tour will in­clude all of the main ar­eas of the cam­pus – the gym, stu­dent cen­tre, ca­ter­ing out­lets, lec­ture theatres, clin­i­cal skills, simulation cen­tre, multi-dis­ci­plinary and e-learn­ing lab­o­ra­to­ries, li­brary, re­search lab­o­ra­tory, in­stru­men­tal room with a tablet­ing ma­chine and the med­i­cal mu­seum.
