univer­sity of Western Aus­tralia (UWA) is cel­e­brat­ing its cen­te­nary in 2013. As the state’s first univer­sity, it is proud to have sup­ported the so­cial and eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment of Western Aus­tralia.

es­tab­lished in 1911, the univer­sity’s ground-break­ing re­search, qual­ity aca­demic staff and state-of-the-art fa­cil­i­ties com­bine to of­fer a vi­brant stu­dent ex­pe­ri­ence.

UWA is the only Western Aus­tralian univer­sity to be­long to the pres­ti­gious Group of eight, a coali­tion of the top re­search uni­ver­si­ties in Aus­tralia.

it is one of only two Aus­tralian mem­bers of the World­wide Uni­ver­si­ties net­work, a part­ner­ship of 18 re­search-led uni­ver­si­ties from europe, Africa, the Amer­i­cas and the Asia-Pa­cific.

With al­most 24,000 stu­dents en­rolled across nine fac­ul­ties, it is a model of broad un­der­grad­u­ate stud­ies fol­lowed by post­grad­u­ate pro­fes­sional qual­i­fi­ca­tions

it was de­signed to pro­duce well-rounded grad­u­ates and pro­vide ad­di­tional en­try op­por­tu­ni­ties for a wider range of stu­dents.

UWA grad­u­ates con­sis­tently ex­cel in gain­ing full-time em­ploy­ment. UWA stu­dents grad­u­ate with a highly re­spected qual­i­fi­ca­tion and with skills sought by em­ploy­ers in today’s chal­leng­ing job mar­ket.

it is ranked among the high­est uni­ver­si­ties world­wide and the 26th in the world. it stands at the top in Aus­tralia for Life and Agri­cul­tural sciences.
