Smart choice for a bright future
ST John’s International School (SJIS) strives to inspire every student to accomplish academic, personal and social goals based on faith, knowledge, thinking, creativity and excellence.
The school is located within the lush green surroundings of the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, against the backdrop of the KL Tower and the Petronas Twin Towers. SJIS is a melting pot of students from different cultures and backgrounds.
Established in collaboration with the La Salle Brothers in Malaysia, SJIS has links with the La Salle organisation that has an outstanding and reputable history of delivering excellent education not only in Malaysia but also in 82 countries worldwide.
SJIS is a new environment for students seeking excellence in education, sports and extracurricular activities.
SJIS offers the internationally recognised Cambridge GCE A-Levels, IGCSE (Years 10 and 11) and Lower Secondary (Years 7 to 9) provided by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), one of the largest providers of international qualifications worldwide.
For the May/June A-Levels and IGCSE examinations, SJIS obtained 100% passes. For A-Levels, 53% of the students secured As and Bs while 83% secured As and Bs for the IGCSE examinations.
The campus has air-conditioned classrooms, a cafeteria, a library and two full- fledged science labs. SJIS has a small teacherstudent ratio with an average of 25 students per class.
Student safety is equally important at SJIS. Currently, SJIS collaborates with the police and RELA authorities as an added security measure. The premises is also monitored by CCTV.
A ready path is available for students who complete their GCE A-Levels to the tertiary level either locally or overseas. SJIS offers a 1Malaysia Grant worth RM6,000 for students enrolled in GCE A-Levels, IGCSE and Lower Secondary in 2013. Students can also apply for scholarships at SJIS and a 10% bursary is given to all children and grandchildren of members of the Lasallian Alumni Association. Students from all Lasallian schools also enjoy the same bursary.
As a city campus, SJIS is located within Kuala Lumpur’s transport hub at Pudu. The Plaza Rakyat (Ampang Line), Masjid Jamek (Ampang and Kelana Line) and Bukit Nanas monorail train stations are all within 10 minutes’ walk.
SJIS also offers student recreation and sports facilities. SJIS invites parents and students to visit the school.
