WHILE you won’t get a white Christ­mas in trop­i­cal Malaysia at the Wind­mill Restau­rant, you are as­sured of a tra­di­tional Western-style Christ­mas din­ner mi­nus the freez­ing tem­per­a­ture.

The heavy wooden fur­ni­ture against the back­drop of red-bricked walls, the fes­tive dec­o­ra­tions over the mock fire­place, the warm light­ing and flick­er­ing can­dle­light from each ta­ble set the am­bi­ence for a fes­tive at­mos­phere that is steeped in an el­e­gant “old world” feel.

The din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence is warm and in­ti­mate, mak­ing it an un­for­get­table one. This Christ­mas, Wind­mill serves up a choice of three Spe­cial Christ­mas menus that will be avail­able only dur­ing Christ­mas Eve and Christ­mas Day; each com­pris­ing a four­course Western meal.

The soups, dessert and bev­er­age for each set is repli­cated but each menu of­fers dif­fer­ent en­trees. The meal starts with Creamy Pump­kin Soup – guar­an­teed to warm you up. The con­sis­tency is per­fect, which makes the soup de­li­ciously smooth and flavour­ful.

The en­tree for the set is roast tur­key with honey glazed tur­key ham and chest­nut stuff­ing. The ten­der and moist meat is served with can­died yam, pars­ley pota­toes and de­li­cious cran­berry sauce. If you are a meat lover, opt for the next set: A roast beef and a New Zealand lamb combo set topped with veg­eta­bles, pars­ley po­tato and French fries.

If you are in the mood for some­thing ex­trav­a­gant from the seas, choose the oven-baked, mouth-wa­ter­ing Tiger prawns and grilled chicken fil­let that’s in-keep­ing with the sea­son’s theme. Topped with The Wind­mill spe­cial sauce, you be served with a gen­er­ous por­tion of veg­eta­bles, pars­ley po­tato and French fries to tan­ta­lise your taste buds.

Af­ter your main course, sweeten your palate with a dessert of fruit cock­tail and ice cream. Then cap off this de­light­ful meal with a steam­ing hot cup of cap­puc­cino. All four-course sets are priced at RM69.90++.
