Chef’s meal in a cosy set­ting

THOSE who want to spend a cosy Christ­mas din­ner with close friends or fam­ily mem­bers should head for Chef & Brew. This in­ti­mate restau­rant will be serv­ing a tan­ta­lis­ing spread that fuses tra­di­tional and mod­ern tastes.

Ap­pe­tiser

Start off with the Mayo Deep-Sea Prawns upon a bed of Caviar and Diced Mango ap­pe­tiser.

The in­ter­est­ing blend of tex­tures and flavours from the prawns and mango meld well and read­ies the palate for what comes next.

To spice things up, there is even a dol­lop of wasabi on the side.

The Creamy Cau­li­flower with Diced Po­tato Soup which comes af­ter is rich in flavour and re­sem­bles the con­sis­tency of a New Eng­land chow­der.

The soup is bound to con­jure im­ages of sup­ping on hot, home­made soups dur­ing cold days and bring on re­mem­bered com­fort and warmth.

Main course

Up next is the main course – Roast Tur­key served with Chicken Sausages, Pars­ley Pota­toes, Sea­sonal Veg­eta­bles and Cran­berry Sauce.

Hearty and whole­some, this new form of cook­ing the tur­key is a kind of de­con­structed take on the tra­di­tional tur­key din­ner.

The tur­key breast is mar­i­nated overnight, then roasted, sliced thick and served with a driz­zle of Chef & Brew’s spe­cial sauce, to­gether with the cran­berry.

The re­sult: tur­key slices that are ten­der and juicy with the sauce that com­ple­ments the cran­berry.

Dessert

The dessert is again Chef & Brew’s twist to the Christ­mas Pud­ding and Cran­berry Muf­fin. Th­ese sweets bring to mind the fruity and zesty tastes so syn­ony­mous with Christ­mas.

One can wash that down with a spe­cial fruity mock­tail, play­fully called the Merry Merry Mock­tail, which packs a fruity re­fresh­ing punch.

It com­bines Grena­dine syrup with ap­ple and orange juices, topped with lime juice. This is bound to be a new favourite. The meal is then com­pleted with ei­ther brewed cof­fee or tea.

This would be the best time to re­flect on the fine flavours of the meal and also take in the com­fort and warmth that the restau­rant pro­vides.

The Christ­mas Menu is priced at RM79.90++ per set. The set with a glass of red or white wine would cost RM89.90++.
