INSPIRED by the symbolic significance of encouraging people to grasp the freedom of realising their dreams, Sunway Pyramid has introduced the theme of Faerie Dreams to their Christmas decorations.
With Christmas celebrations running from Dec 16 to 29, shoppers will have the opportunity to take in the sight of the 40-foot Christmas tree that is brightly lit amid in a wintry setting. This focal point is located at the mall’s lower ground two, Blue Concourse.
The Christmas tree itself is a contemporary “tree” – made out of multiple artistic frames and colourful wings that make up the conical shape of a typical Christmas tree.
Step under this structure of frames and wings and you get a sense of a gazebo, with a wishing fountain at the centre, in place of a trunk. Another wishing fountain is located at lower ground two, Orange Concourse.
The visual element that transcends throughout the whole theme is the depiction of various angel wings, which can be found in numerous spots around the mall.
Sunway Pyramid’s general manager, Phang Sau Ling explained that the angel wings reflect the hope that the divine is keeping a lookout and fulfilling people’s wishes.
“Through Faerie Dreams we hope to be able to inspire people around us. We want people to realise that they too can make some wishes come true.”
At the ground floor of Sunway Pyramid, shoppers will chance upon the largest display of angel wings in Kuala Lumpur. Originally displayed bare, shoppers can purchase coloured feathers for RM10 each to fill in the frames of the wings.
The proceeds for the feathers will be channelled to the Children’s Wish Society (CWS) which works towards fulfilling wishes of children stricken with life-limiting or terminal illnesses across Malaysia.
During the Dec 21 launch, the society sent seven children to Sunway Pyramid to have their wishes fulfilled. Of the seven, three of them wished for their ambitions to come true: a pilot, a singer and a policeman.
Shoppers to Sunway Pyramid during this season of festivities will also be greeted by new stores such as Sephora, Thomas Sabo, Jane Norman, Accessorize, Armani Exchange, Victoria Secret, H&Mand Terranova.Making its debut in Malaysia is UK fashion retail outlet Blue Inc.
The Christmas celebration coincides with the Malaysia Year End Sale. Shoppers will have the chance to take part in a competition where they can win up to RM100,00 worth of prizes. These include a four-day, three-night stay at Dreamworld, Gold Coast Australia. Shoppers can also check out interesting activities during weekends and public holidays.
Until Dec 1, shoppers spending up to RM800 in three receipts (RM600 for HSBC cardholders) can redeem exclusive passes to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs The Musical worth RM200 which will premiere on Dec 7 at Sunway Lagoon’s Amphitheatre.
