Evolution of Mido’s Commander
FOR the renowned watchmaker Mido, the extraordinary architecture of a monument is synonymous with a mark of true design, just like its Commander.
The Commander Chronograph is equipped with an automatic movement and offers a distinctive blend of steel and leather with a chic personality that is all its own.
Protected by a faceted and domed sapphire crystal, the silver sunray satinated dial reveals faceted appliques reminiscent of the latticework of the Eiffel Tower, an edifice with a strong identity similar to that conveyed by the Commander at Mido, a collection appreciated since its creation in 1959.
Both a symbol and monument of Paris, the Eiffel Tower stands out because of its technical and architectural perfection.
Evolving with the times, it has forged a powerful identity over the decades, just like the Commander, which beautifully evokes this bold and legendary construction.
This new chronograph is equipped with an automatic movement with top finishing and is fitted with a transparent case back enabling the finely decorated automatic movement to be admired.
With a diameter of 42.50mm and water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50m), the Commander Chronograph will appeal to every man who admires fine watchmaking and appreciates Swiss tradition and expertise.
The Commander has been given a new look, but retains the strong character so emblematic of the collection.
The satin stainless steel case and polished bezel, treated with rose PVD, encircle a dial with a silver sunray satinated finish.
A faceted and domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, which is adorned with three snailed anthracite counters that lend the model a fine masculinity.
The hands are golden-rose. The hour and minute hands are treated with white SuperLumiNova, as are the faceted golden-rose appliques, for easy readability at night.
The Commander Chronograph is fitted with an anthracite leather strap.
It is also available in a full steel version with a silver dial and silver or anthracite counters or an anthracite dial with silver counters and a black leather strap.
The Commander Chronometer Limited Edition, on the other hand, has a black leather strap with folding clasp. It comes in a special presentation box created exclusively for the occasion.
The hints of red on the tachometer numbers, the words “Limited Edition” and the central seconds counter hand lend a unique touch to this model.
The Commander Leather is fitted with a brown leather strap. It is also available with an anthracite sunray satinated dial and black leather strap or with a rose PVD-treated steel case, anthracite sunray satinated dial and anthracite leather strap.
For ladies, The Commander Lady Motherof-Pearl is fitted with a black semi-lacquered leather strap.
It is also available with a rose PVD-treated steel case and silver sunray satinated dial.
Three additional full steel versions, with rose or yellow-gold PVD treatment and sunray satinated dial are also available.
Since 1918 Mido has been perfecting the mark of true design: by being timeless.
Its philosophy is to combine timeless design with functionality rather than following fashion trends.
Its objective is to create timepieces that are of high quality and endowed with precise movements and offering outstanding water-resistance in order to last a long time.
