From pre-tertiary to degree
MAKING the decision to pursue ALevels may seem simple, yet deciding on the best institution is no easy task considering the numerous institutions available.
Before you pick a school, you need to decide on what you want from your higher education. Fear, selfdoubt, anxiety, cost and benefits are all at play in the search for the best college.
This is why at ATC, your learning experience is priority.
Since its commencement in 1987, ATC has offered education at pre-tertiary level with the objective of giving students an opportunity to pursue further education in most fields. In the last five years, it has expanded regionally with branches in Penang, Singapore and Hong Kong.
ATC has committed itself to providing students with quality education. With over 2,000 students reading for professional and pre-tertiary studies, this is proof of its strong reputation and leadership in private education.
Vivian Oh, the 2013 recipient of the Malaysian Law Scholarship Award who will be furthering her University of London LLB degree at King’s College, London, was a former student of the A-Levels department.
She achieved remarkable results in her A-Levels and went on to perform well during her first year of the LLB programme at ATC. To be offered the King’s College scholarship is a remarkable achievement and it provided her with the opportunity to complete her law degree in Britain.
This honour is available to only one Malaysian annually; ATC has an out- standing track record of over 10 such scholars over the years.
Oh has benefited from the sound foundation she received from the teaching at ATC. The A-Levels qualification has provided her the proper tools to take on subjects that are more challenging.
Designed to give students an opportunity to pursue further education in most fields, the A-Levels is awarded by the University of Cambridge. Subjects offered at ATC include English literature, law, business studies, economics, accounting and mathematics. Examinations are held twice a year, giving students the chance to prepare themselves for their respective subjects.
Successful students from the 2012 School of Pre-Tertiary programme include Ting Ee Linn, who obtained the highest scores in the world for the subject of law, and Chan Heng Joe, who scored top marks for economics in Malaysia on the AS Level.
This is a testament of the strong commitment of the faculty in ensuring students excel in their education at the institution.
With dedicated and experienced lecturers, the educational experience offered will allow students to also develop the confidence and character needed to pursue further education both locally and abroad.
