Everything on education at Facon
Facon Education Fair has seen tremendous growth in terms of number of institutions and groups participating from asia since its inception in 1990.
This popular fair returns to provide a platform for globally recognised institutions of higher learning to disseminate information on further education opportunities to Malaysians.
The fair is endorsed by the Ministry of Education in recognition of its success and contribution to the education industry and human resource development.
Kicking off one of the largest and longest education road shows in asia yesterday in alor Setar, Kedah, the fair will make its final stop with a mammoth event in PWTc in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 14 and 15.
Since its debut, this prestigious event has been attended by millions of visitors. What’s more, it’s timed after the SPM and STPM examinations and around the release of the UEc results. The exhibition is open from noon to 6pm. Here is the schedule: > Penang on Dec 11 at Traders Hotel > Ipoh, Perak on Dec 12 at Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites > Malacca on Dec 13 at Equatorial Hotel > Kuala Lumpur on Dec 14-15 at Putra World Trade centre
> Johor Baru on Dec 14-15 at Persada convention centre
Those who are interested to complete their higher education locally will not be disappointed as many local institutions will be at the fair. These include asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, advance Tertiary college, Berjaya University college of Hospitality, Brickfields asia college, HELP University, InTI International University & colleges, KDU University college, MaHSa University college, nilai University, Quest International University Perak, SEGi University college, Taylor’s University and The University of nottingham.
Visitors will also get a chance to meet rep- resentatives from international groups from china, Japan, Singapore, Britain, South Korea, australia and others.
For the first time in Malaysia, South Korean institutions, under the umbrella of the national Institutes of International Education Department (nIIED) will be leading 40 popular universities.
These include ajou University, Hanyang University, Korea University, Pohang University of Science & Technology, Yonsei University and also Ewha Women University, a university catering only to women.
a Singapore group consisting of renowned institutions such as national University of Singapore (nUS), nanyang Polytechnic (nYP), Kaplan Singapore and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) will also be there.
apart from that, there will be a group of 10 chinese tertiary institutions led by the Beijing International Education Exchange centre.
With thousands of programmes being offered, visitors will be spoilt for choice at the fair. courses range from Design to IT, Business to Law, Medicine to Mass communications, Engineering to Sciences, accounting and Finance to Healthcare and more.
a scholarship information booth will be specially setup at Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baru venues to assist visitors. PTPTn (national Higher Education Fund corporation) will also be at the Kuala Lumpur venue to help you out with loans.
In Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baru, visitors are invited to attend a series of presentations to have a better understanding of the programmes, institutions and its facilities conducted by the respective exhibitors. admission is free and seats are limited.
There will also be special talks by Learning Hub for those interested in improving their reading speed, memory and study skills. other talks include one by International Psychology centre (on career).
Visitors are advised to bring along their result slips and relevant documents for more accurate assessments.
