Ev­ery­thing on ed­u­ca­tion at Fa­con

Fa­con Ed­u­ca­tion Fair has seen tremen­dous growth in terms of num­ber of in­sti­tu­tions and groups par­tic­i­pat­ing from asia since its in­cep­tion in 1990.

This pop­u­lar fair re­turns to pro­vide a plat­form for glob­ally recog­nised in­sti­tu­tions of higher learn­ing to dis­sem­i­nate in­for­ma­tion on fur­ther ed­u­ca­tion op­por­tu­ni­ties to Malaysians.

The fair is en­dorsed by the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion in recog­ni­tion of its suc­cess and con­tri­bu­tion to the ed­u­ca­tion in­dus­try and hu­man re­source de­vel­op­ment.

Kick­ing off one of the largest and long­est ed­u­ca­tion road shows in asia yes­ter­day in alor Se­tar, Kedah, the fair will make its fi­nal stop with a mam­moth event in PWTc in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 14 and 15.

Since its de­but, this pres­ti­gious event has been at­tended by mil­lions of visi­tors. What’s more, it’s timed af­ter the SPM and STPM ex­am­i­na­tions and around the re­lease of the UEc re­sults. The ex­hi­bi­tion is open from noon to 6pm. Those who are in­ter­ested to com­plete their higher ed­u­ca­tion lo­cally will not be dis­ap­pointed as many lo­cal in­sti­tu­tions will be at the fair. Th­ese in­clude asia Pa­cific Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy & In­no­va­tion, ad­vance Ter­tiary col­lege, Ber­jaya Univer­sity col­lege of Hos­pi­tal­ity, Brick­fields asia col­lege, HELP Univer­sity, InTI In­ter­na­tional Univer­sity & col­leges, KDU Univer­sity col­lege, MaHSa Univer­sity col­lege, ni­lai Univer­sity, Quest In­ter­na­tional Univer­sity Perak, SEGi Univer­sity col­lege, Tay­lor’s Univer­sity and The Univer­sity of not­ting­ham.

Visi­tors will also get a chance to meet rep- re­sen­ta­tives from in­ter­na­tional groups from china, Ja­pan, Sin­ga­pore, Bri­tain, South Korea, aus­tralia and oth­ers.

For the first time in Malaysia, South Korean in­sti­tu­tions, un­der the um­brella of the na­tional In­sti­tutes of In­ter­na­tional Ed­u­ca­tion Depart­ment (nIIED) will be lead­ing 40 pop­u­lar uni­ver­si­ties.

Th­ese in­clude ajou Univer­sity, Hanyang Univer­sity, Korea Univer­sity, Po­hang Univer­sity of Sci­ence & Tech­nol­ogy, Yon­sei Univer­sity and also Ewha Women Univer­sity, a univer­sity cater­ing only to women.

a Sin­ga­pore group con­sist­ing of renowned in­sti­tu­tions such as na­tional Univer­sity of Sin­ga­pore (nUS), nanyang Polytech­nic (nYP), Ka­plan Sin­ga­pore and Sin­ga­pore Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy and De­sign (SUTD) will also be there.

apart from that, there will be a group of 10 chi­nese ter­tiary in­sti­tu­tions led by the Bei­jing In­ter­na­tional Ed­u­ca­tion Ex­change cen­tre.

With thou­sands of pro­grammes be­ing of­fered, visi­tors will be spoilt for choice at the fair. cour­ses range from De­sign to IT, Busi­ness to Law, Medicine to Mass com­mu­ni­ca­tions, Engineering to Sciences, ac­count­ing and Fi­nance to Health­care and more.

a schol­ar­ship in­for­ma­tion booth will be spe­cially setup at Kuala Lumpur and Jo­hor Baru venues to as­sist visi­tors. PTPTn (na­tional Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Fund cor­po­ra­tion) will also be at the Kuala Lumpur venue to help you out with loans.

In Kuala Lumpur and Jo­hor Baru, visi­tors are in­vited to at­tend a se­ries of pre­sen­ta­tions to have a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the pro­grammes, in­sti­tu­tions and its fa­cil­i­ties con­ducted by the re­spec­tive ex­hibitors. ad­mis­sion is free and seats are lim­ited.

There will also be spe­cial talks by Learn­ing Hub for those in­ter­ested in im­prov­ing their read­ing speed, mem­ory and study skills. other talks in­clude one by In­ter­na­tional Psy­chol­ogy cen­tre (on ca­reer).

Visi­tors are ad­vised to bring along their re­sult slips and rel­e­vant doc­u­ments for more ac­cu­rate as­sess­ments.
