Degree pathway begins at IUKL
THE Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) understands that there are many important factors that should be taken into consideration when choosing a university, like time, cost and quality of the programmes. The 1+3 Higher Education Plan is carefully designed to address these needs.
IUKL’s 1+3 Higher Education Plan consists of one-year Foundation Studies and a threeyear degree programme. An Engineering degree will take up to four years to complete while some others may take up to three-and-a-half years. This plan is specially designed for SPM leavers to enable them to get a degree programme of their choice in just one year.
At IUKL, there are two major streams of Foundation Studies – Foundation in Science and Foundation in Arts. In terms of degree programmes, IUKL offers over 40 majors that cover the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, Business and Accounting, Communication and Applied Sciences.
The Foundation Studies of IUKL is unlike others where students are immediately placed into a very defined field of study. It is designed to be general, allowing students to have extra one year to decide what they really wish to pursue in the future. Besides the fact that it is a fast-track programme to a Bachelor’s degree, along the way students will receive advice and guidance from experienced lecturers for them to make the right choice.
At IUKL, the Foundation in Science will eventually prepare students for Engineering, Health Science and Applied Sciences programmes. The Foundation in Arts allows students to continue their degree in the fields of Architecture, Business and Accounting, Information Technology, Communication and other relevant fields of study.
Also, your studies are made more affordable at IUKL. In addition to its own Scholarship Scheme, IUKL does offer the Sin Chew Daily Education Fund, The Star Education Fund and some other NGO education funds to assist ambitious and underprivileged students realise their dreams.
IUKL also offers students up to 60% tuition fee waiver based on their semester performance. This scheme will be automatically granted to students whose semester results meet the requirements.
Other forms of financial assistance available at IUKL include the PTPTN loan, MARA loan and Yayasan Negeri. You may obtain further details from the university’s official website.
IUKL is currently having its January intake for Foundation Studies. Those who register for the programme this December will be entitled to a special tuition rebate of RM1,000. In addition, you can start the programme with only RM100 registration fee. Fresh SPM leavers are encouraged to apply using trial exam results.
