THE his­tory of PTPL group of col­leges dates back to its es­tab­lish­ment in 1981 by striv­ing to pro­vide the com­mit­ment and qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion to those who seek ex­cel­lence in their aca­demic pur­suits.

PTPL Col­lege has be­come the in­sti­tu­tion of choice among many SPM or STPM school-leavers.

It plays a pro­duc­tive role in ful­fill­ing the qual­ity hu­man cap­i­tal needs of the na­tion through its 10 ma­jor cam­puses lo­cated through­out Malaysia.

The PTPL Group’s in­volve­ment in of­fer­ing crit­i­cal and in­dus­try-rel­e­vant cour­ses is cru­cial to­wards the cre­ation of fu­ture grad­u­ates.

PTPL em­pha­sises on the ar­eas of Health Sciences, In­for­ma­tion Sciences, Engineering, Hos­pi­tal­ity, Busi­ness Man­age­ment and Pro­fes­sional Stud­ies dis­ci­plines.

At PTPL col­leges, you can get a head start in ei­ther Cer­tifi­cate or Diploma pro­grammes in th­ese ar­eas.

The pro­grammes of­fered by the PTPL Group are based on the na­tion’s cur­rent de­mand of man­power.

It houses the School of Health Sciences, which of­fers the Cer­tifi­cate in Health Sci­ence and Diploma Med­i­cal Lab­o­ra­tory Tech­nol­ogy.

School of Busi­ness Man­age­ment and Pro­fes­sional Stud­ies of­fers pro­grammes such as Busi­ness Man­age­ment, Early Childhood Ed­u­ca­tion, Ac­coun­tancy, Man­age­ment and English Lan­guage Teach­ing.

The School of Hos­pi­tal­ity and Culi­nary Arts of­fers pro­grammes in Tourism Man­age­ment, Ho­tel Op­er­a­tion and Cater­ing, Culi­nary Arts and Ho­tel Man­age­ment.

On the other hand, the School of In­for­ma­tion Sciences and Engineering pro­vides Com­puter Sci­ence, Graphic De­sign, In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy, Mul­ti­me­dia Tech­nol­ogy, and Elec­tri­cal and Elec­tronic Engineering.

Stu­dents with three passes in SPM sub­jects in­clud­ing a credit in Ba­hasa Malaysia, Math­e­mat­ics and any of the sci­ence sub­jects may ap­ply.

The rest are ad­vised to ap­ply for cer­tifi­cate pro­grammes.

The cer­tifi­cate pro­grammes of­fered by PTPL are Health Sci­ence, Busi­ness Man­age­ment, Early Childhood Ed­u­ca­tion, Elec­tri­cal and Elec­tronic Engineering, Com­puter Sci­ence, Tourism Man­age­ment and Cater­ing and Ho­tel Op­er­a­tion.

The min­i­mum en­try re­quire­ment for cer­tifi­cate pro­grammes is a pass in SPM with a min­i­mum of one credit in any sub­ject.

Af­ter com­plet­ing their stud­ies at PTPL col­leges, stu­dents have the ad­van­tage of trans­fer­ring their credit hours earned dur­ing their diploma level stud­ies to a bach­e­lor’s de­gree at the Man­age­ment and Sci­ence Univer­sity (MSU), where MSU is the col­le­giate in­sti­tu­tion for PTPL.

Such credit trans­fers could be done with ease as all pro­grammes of­fered are ac­cred­ited by the Malaysian Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Agency (MQA).

PTPL Col­lege in Pe­nang has built a strong global con­nec­tion with for­eign uni­ver­si­ties.

Stu­dents in­ter­ested in pur­su­ing their 3+0 bach­e­lor pro­grammes at a for­eign univer­sity can choose from se­lected uni­ver­si­ties such as Anglia Ruskin Univer­sity, Northum­bria Univer­sity and the Univer­sity of East Lon­don.

Pro­fes­sional Pro­grammes vary from CAT, ACCA-Qual­i­fi­ca­tion, LCCIDi­ploma in Busi­ness Stud­ies, LCCIPri­vate Sec­re­tar­ial Diploma, ABE and CIMA.
