MAHSA pre-university programme offers assurance
DECIDING on a career comes easy for some but takes more time for others. It is a decision that is best made while exposing oneself to the most necessary subjects of each field, be it academically or practically.
MAHSA University’s pre-university programme offers students the opportunity to be specifically prepared for their chosen degree choices.
They are eligible to enrol upon completion of SPM, even with their trial results. It is during the first semester that students will be taught subjects, which will be useful in assisting them in making their decision for a degree programme.
Options available for students embarking on their second semester in the pre-university programme include the Foundation in Science and Foundation in Business, which are specially catered to building the necessary academic strengths they will require when they move on to the degree programme of their choice at MAHSA University.
Students have the option of choosing from degree programmes such as Medicine, Dentistry, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Biomedical Science, Medical Imaging as well as Environmental Health.
During this critical decision-making period, students are also guided by the experienced and dedicated faculty of the Centre of Pre-University Studies.
Its director Dr James Walsh advises students, “Do well in your exams and take control of your academic career. Always make sure as students that you do what you want, not what others tell you to do, but take good advice from those with greater experience in life such as your parents and family.
“Come to MAHSA and see what we can do for you to help you reach your goals.”
The PhD holder from the National University of Ireland (Dublin), who has an impressive background in Physics coupled with a strong affinity for research, goes on to explain that the MAHSA Pre-University Department aims to develop students into university material.
He said students in the pre-university programme at MAHSA are nurtured to ensure that they will have a smooth transition into their degree programme.
Dr Walsh also shared how he is currently involved in mentoring students in MAHSA’s pre-university programme.
MAHSA University’s new intake will commence on Jan 5. Students are welcome to apply using their SPM trial results to ensure a seat in the pre-university programme.
