Soaring to success at SEGi
FOR more than 35 years, SEGi University Group (SEGi) has equipped graduates from diverse backgrounds with exceptional education for career achievement and personal success.
The group first opened its doors as Systematic College in 1977 in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s commercial district.
Since then, it has experienced significant growth by adapting and catering to an increasing demand for academic qualifications in Malaysia.
Today, the group has five major campuses located in Kota Damansara, Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Sarawak.
SEGi is constantly on a quest to maximise its students’ natural talents and potential with quality education. This will lead to SEGi graduates who can be key industry leaders to contribute significantly to nation building.
As one of the leading higher education institutions in Malaysia, SEGi students are making their mark in the country by winning various nationwide competitions, such as the Maybank Photography Award, MOB Video competition and AIESEC Entrepreneurship Summit and Competition.
Students pursuing their studies with SEGi’s partner universities are also writing their own success stories academically.
Students such as Allister Kuek Mong Yee and Lim Chiaw Soon from the American Degree Programme (ADP) with Upper Iowa University at SEGi College Sarawak, Ajay Singh Sangwan from the University of Southern Queensland’s MBA programme at SEGi University, and Honey Ho Siew Mei from University of Sunderland’s MBA programme at SEGi College Subang Jaya have been acknowledged by the partner universities for their outstanding academic successes.
To motivate students to be at their best, SEGi has a series of motivational talks inspired by the worldrenowned TEDTalks. Called Segian Talks, it gathers the best minds in various industries to share ideas to improve and impact lives.
Some of the speakers who have taken part include Captain James Anthony Tan, acknowledged by the Guinness World Records as the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world, prominent TV personality Hansen Lee and Chevy Beh, one of Malaysia’s leading polo players and BP Healthcare Group chief executive director.
SEGi is on the right track to make Malaysia an international education hub. It will continue in its quest to make education accessible to all, to raise the bar for education excellence here.
