MAJOR advancements in science and technology have created a multitude of jobs opportunities. Media and multimedia technology, in particular, has become more sophisticated, showing up in a variety of ways.
Realising the rapid development of the world of multimedia and the high demand for skilled manpower, PTPL College introduced the Diploma in Multimedia Technology through its School of Information Sciences Engineering.
This course involves learning scientific and technical principles of media capture and computer representation, methods of operation and application of the computer software and systems that enable delivery of multimedia productions.
Multimedia Technology graduates can look forward to a rewarding career as technical professionals as well as adapt to a wide range of opportunities in the design and application of information communication systems based on software technologies.
The entry qualification for this two-and-a-half-year programme is a pass with three credits in the SPM or SPMV examinations, and priority is given to Mathematics and Science.
With the diploma, students will gain credit transfer upon enrolling into the Management & Science University (MSU). The credit transfer will ensure a student’s place in the second year of his or her degree-level studies at MSU.
Other programmes offered by the School of Information Sciences Engineering at diploma and certificate levels include electrical and electronic engineering, graphic design, and information technology, e-commerce and computer science.
Students have the option of furthering their studies and credit transfer to a second-year bachelor’s degree in their respective fields under the Faculty of Information Science & Engineering at MSU.
