Gear up for a re­ward­ing ca­reer in mul­ti­me­dia tech­nol­ogy

MA­JOR ad­vance­ments in sci­ence and tech­nol­ogy have cre­ated a mul­ti­tude of jobs op­por­tu­ni­ties. Me­dia and mul­ti­me­dia tech­nol­ogy, in par­tic­u­lar, has be­come more so­phis­ti­cated, show­ing up in a va­ri­ety of ways.

Re­al­is­ing the rapid de­vel­op­ment of the world of mul­ti­me­dia and the high de­mand for skilled man­power, PTPL Col­lege in­tro­duced the Diploma in Mul­ti­me­dia Tech­nol­ogy through its School of In­for­ma­tion Sciences Engineering.

This course in­volves learn­ing sci­en­tific and tech­ni­cal prin­ci­ples of me­dia cap­ture and com­puter rep­re­sen­ta­tion, meth­ods of op­er­a­tion and ap­pli­ca­tion of the com­puter soft­ware and sys­tems that en­able de­liv­ery of mul­ti­me­dia pro­duc­tions.

Mul­ti­me­dia Tech­nol­ogy grad­u­ates can look for­ward to a re­ward­ing ca­reer as tech­ni­cal pro­fes­sion­als as well as adapt to a wide range of op­por­tu­ni­ties in the de­sign and ap­pli­ca­tion of in­for­ma­tion com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tems based on soft­ware tech­nolo­gies.

The en­try qual­i­fi­ca­tion for this two-and-a-half-year pro­gramme is a pass with three cred­its in the SPM or SPMV ex­am­i­na­tions, and pri­or­ity is given to Math­e­mat­ics and Sci­ence.

With the diploma, stu­dents will gain credit trans­fer upon en­rolling into the Man­age­ment & Sci­ence Univer­sity (MSU). The credit trans­fer will en­sure a stu­dent’s place in the sec­ond year of his or her de­gree-level stud­ies at MSU.

Other pro­grammes of­fered by the School of In­for­ma­tion Sciences Engineering at diploma and cer­tifi­cate lev­els in­clude elec­tri­cal and elec­tronic engineering, graphic de­sign, and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy, e-com­merce and com­puter sci­ence.

Stu­dents have the op­tion of fur­ther­ing their stud­ies and credit trans­fer to a sec­ond-year bach­e­lor’s de­gree in their re­spec­tive fields un­der the Fac­ulty of In­for­ma­tion Sci­ence & Engineering at MSU.
