Rain set to shine in KL

HEADS up, K-pop fans! South Korean singer, dancer and ac­tor Rain will be in Kuala Lumpur on March 29. Rain will be part of the Twin Tow­ers @Live! lineup where sev­eral other yet-to-con­firmed mu­sic acts will per­form a free con­cert at Plaza Petronas, KLCC. This will be Rain’s first per­for­mance here since 2011.

The 31-year-old entertainer re­cently com­pleted a two-year com­pul­sory stint in mil­i­tary ser­vice. Rain (real name: Jung Ji-Hoon) made his de­but in 2002 with the al­bum Bad Guy. He ce­mented his pop­u­lar­ity as one of South Korea’s hottest ex­ports with the re­lease of his third al­bum It’s Rain­ing, which sold over a mil­lion copies in Asia.

His act­ing ca­reer also took off with a mem­o­rable role on the tele­vi­sion se­ries Full House. In 2006, Time magazine in­cluded him in its list of “100 Most In­flu­en­tial Peo­ple Who Shaped Our World”. Rain re­leased his lat­est al­bum Rain Effect ear­lier this year and it made its de­but at #1 on the South Korean mu­sic charts. For his up­com­ing per­for­mance in KL, fans can look for­ward to per­for­mances of his new sin­gles 30 Sexy and La Song as well as other hits.
