Canada beckons you
cANADIAN institutions will visit Malaysia this month and in March to promote Canadian education to Malaysian students and showcase a variety of programmes, including engineering, business, actuarial sciences, biotechnology, computer science and pre-university studies.
Representatives from these institutions will be on hand to counsel interested students and parents and advise on the admission requirements for the upcoming school intakes.
The High Commission of Canada in Malaysia is responsible for organising the education fairs in Malaysia.
The fairs will be held at Traders Hotel in George Town on Feb 25 from 5pm to 10pm and Canada Place at Wisma Selangor Dredging in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, from 11am to 6pm on March 1 and 2. Admission is free.
Canada offers consistently highquality, affordable education and internationally recognised credentials in more than 10,000 study programmes.
Last year, QS University rankings and Webometrics placed five and six Canadian universities in the World’s Top 100, respectively. Its multicultural population and vast natural beauty offer a welcoming and healthy environment for international students.
In 2012, more than 265,000 inter- national students from over 160 countries chose to study in Canada.
Comparatively low annual tuition fees and cost of living make Canada an attractive destination for international studies. Tuition fees for pre-university programmes in Canada start from C$5,500 (RM17,000) a year and university programmes begin from as low as C$8,000 (RM25,000) a year, while the cost of living starts from C$7,500 (RM23,000) a year.
