One-stop education fair
NOWADAYS, students and parents are exposed to many choices of studies. Upon completing SPM, students can opt for local or overseas education.
JM Education Counselling Centre (JM) and Education UK are here to guide students and parents on this. For the second year running, they are organising the JM Education Fair (previously known as Global Education Fair) on the following dates and venues:
> Feb 21 (Friday) from 2pm to 7pm at Grand Paragon Hotel, Johor Baru
> Feb 22 (Saturday) from noon to 5pm at Traders Hotel, Penang
> March 1 (Saturday) from noon to 5pm at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Kuching
> March 2 (Sunday) from noon to 5pm at the Palace Hotel, Kota Kinabalu
JM aims to expose students and parents to study options and opportunities in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia.
University and college representatives will be on hand to meet and counsel students on the choice of institutions, courses, entry requirements, credit transfer opportunities, accommodation plus scholarship information. This is a great opportunity to explore different education options and systems under one roof.
The fair will appeal to stu- dents in secondary and high school studies, foundation, GCSE, A-Level, IB, pre-university courses, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
The next likely intakes will be in April, July and September for those who already hold relevant qualifications or are expected to get their results in the near future.
Current SPM and college students are also welcome to find out more about admissions for this year.
For students who do not meet university entry requirements, pathway programmes are available on and off campus of universities in the form of foundation or diploma courses.
In addition, it is now possible for SPM / Form 5 / O-Level holders to enrol in leading American and Canadian universities’ fouryear undergraduate courses.
