uNITAR In­ter­na­tional Univer­sity (UNITAR) has em­barked on strate­gic part­ner­ships with leading com­pa­nies to bring in­dus­try ex­pe­ri­ence into the class­room.

This is a move to en­sure ex­ten­sive ca­reer op­tions for its stu­dents upon grad­u­a­tion.

Part­ner­ing big or­gan­i­sa­tions such as Maxis Bhd, Boustead Ho­tels and Re­sorts Sdn Bhd, MathFi­nance Pte Ltd and Ox­ford Busi­ness Group gives UNITAR stu­dents that added ad­van­tage – to ab­sorb and ex­cel in en­hanc­ing soft skills and an­a­lyt­i­cal think­ing.

It also helps them be­come more pro­fes­sional, which is what em­ploy­ers look for.

“Stu­dents who em­bark on their ed­u­ca­tion jour­ney at UNITAR In­ter­na­tional Univer­sity will see bright op­por­tu­ni­ties in get­ting real ex­po­sure when the univer­sity part­ners with such rep­utable or­gan­i­sa­tions in bring­ing the in­dus­try into the class­room,” said UNITAR In­ter­na­tional Univer­sity’s di­rec­tor of Strate­gic Al­liance and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Of­fice, Sheikh Fahmy Sheikh Mo­hamed.

He added that this method will pro­vide a good ed­u­ca­tional land­scape which pro­duces em­ploy­able grad­u­ates who are in­dus­try-ready, knowl­edge­able and ex­pe­ri­enced.

Each in­dus­try part­ners are selected pru­dently with the aim of suit­ing each fac­ulty with an in­dus­try leader – from the Fac­ulty of Busi­ness and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy to the Fac­ulty of Ed­u­ca­tion and So­cial Sci­ences, Fac­ulty of Early Child­hood Stud­ies and Fac­ulty of Hos­pi­tal­ity and Tourism Man­age­ment.

The var­i­ous part­ner­ships range from en­trepreneur­ship de­vel­op­ment per­spec­tives, train­ing ca­pac­ity build­ing, de­vel­op­ing aca­demic ex­change, in­dus­trial train­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties, aca­demic and re­search to joint re­search on ar­eas of mu­tual ben­e­fit.

With its new cam­pus in Ke­lana Jaya, UNITAR is equipped with ex­ten­sive fa­cil­i­ties such as stu­dent lounge, li­brary, com­puter lab, dance stu­dio and class­rooms that are lo­cated next to the Ke­lana Jaya po­lice sta­tion.

It is also sup­ported by ameni­ties such as Gi­ant Hyper­mar­ket, Par­a­digm Mall, Em­pire Shop­ping Gallery, Sun­way Pyramid and Subang Pa­rade.

Not only does UNITAR of­fer em­ploy­a­bil­ity to its cur­rent stu­dents, it also pro­vides ac­cess to learn­ing to po­ten­tial stu­dents across Malaysia.

A unique fea­ture of UNITAR is the ex­is­tence of 10 re­gional cen­tres in dif­fer­ent lo­ca­tions.

Ac­cess to ed­u­ca­tion is a pri­mary goal of UNITAR and stu­dents can choose to pur­sue its cour­ses through the re­gional cen­tres in Kota Kin­a­balu, Sabah; Kuch­ing, Sarawak; Alor Se­tar, Kedah; Kota Baru, Ke­lan­tan; Jo­hor Baru, Jo­hor; Ipoh, Perak; Pe­nang; Malacca; Jengka, Pa­hang; and Keningau, Sabah.
