tHE United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) is a three-step examination for medical licensure in the United States. It allows a successful candidate to do his specialisation in America.
The USMLE assesses a physician’s ability to apply knowledge, concepts and principles, and to demonstrate fundamental patientcentred skills that are important in health and disease and constitute the basis of safe and effective patient care.
The USMLE is a pathway for Malaysian doctors to specialise in the United States. Many medical students and doctors from neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand are actively involved in the USMLE and have progressed to their specialisation residency in the United States.
Nugrahan Sdn Bhd was appointed the sole representative for Kaplan Medical in Malaysia to assist Malaysian students in medical schools who are keen to bring their medical career one step ahead through the USMLE programme.
Students may enrol in this programme while in medical school.
To date, there are many Malaysian students from various medical schools who have registered to pursue USMLE through Nugrahan.
The expected outcome of the USMLE is a general unrestricted licence to practise medicine without supervision.
