Enhancing young minds
MATRIx Global Schools which consists of Matrix Private School, Matrix International School and Matrix International Pre-school, is a fully owned subsidiary of Matrix Concepts Holding Berhad.
Spread over a 20-acre (8.09ha) site, these schools are built based on the British residential school concept and share one campus, one vision and one mission.
Matrix Global Schools aims to enhance learning efficiency through fusing practicality with academic syllabus.
It is set to revolutionise education to break through boundaries, opening minds and exploring knowledge.
Moving away from the cliche perception that fun cannot be intertwined with learning, Matrix Global Schools integrates modern technology with traditional school of thoughts. It embraces the concept of the world as a classroom.
It provides a learning platform for students to be intellectually curious, responsive and persistent via indoor as well as outdoor learnings.
“Summer camps” are infused into the curriculum and are compulsory for all students.
To Matrix Global Schools the learning journey is more important than the destination.
It focuses on a simple concept of training people to learn.
“Our task as educators is to help our children to discover and develop their strengths so that they have the courage, skills and resourcefulness to live fulfilled lives,” said chief executive officer Felix E.B. Lee, who has more than 21 years experience in private education in Malaysia and was the previous deputy president of NAPEI (National Association of Private Educational Institutions).
Matrix Global has been associated with the United Kingdom’s prestigious Ellesmere College, a 130-year-old British residential school, and the partnership will leverage on each others’ strengths.
Matrix Global will be exporting Ellesmere College’s teaching methodology, which includes computer tablets with a specially designed interactive curriculum.
Currently being developed for use in Matrix Global schools and Ellesmere College, this interactive feature in the curriculum is unique in the region, as it is based on the concept of collaborative and cooperative learning.
Matrix Global Schools offers a series of events in the following months to extend their version of experiential learning to the public.
These activities include an outdoor cinema-themed Stories Under the Sky. It encourages people to enjoy the outdoors by offering a unique cinema experience with loved ones. This will be followed by a stargazing experience of the moon and planet Jupiter.
A road show called The Whizz Kid Roadshow is also planned for parents and children to explore creative imaginations.
The Matrix Fun Ride aims to bring communities together in a friendly activity that promotes family values, bonding and fun.
The programme will see participants cycling around a predetermined route around Bandar Sri Sendayan, Seremban.
The Matrix Hunt is Matrix’s version of the Amazing Hunt where participants challenge each other in a group of four to complete the tasks given.
Matrix Global Schools has prepared a series of information sessions in selected localities, including Damansara, Kajang, Cheras, Putra Heights, Seremban, Nilai and Port Dickson.
Matrix International School will open in September this year while Matrix Private School opens in January next year.
