SCHOOL leavers eager to pursue a career in food and beverage management can get on the right path with DISTED College’s Diploma in Food and Beverage Management ( DFBM).

The DFBM, the latest diploma in DISTED’s stable of programme offerings, is a two- year four- month programme designed to equip students with applicable knowledge and skills in food service and culinary arts.

Students will also gain technical and management skills that prepare them for careers in the global food and beverage ( F& B) industry.

DISTED’s School of Hospitality Management head Susie Khoo said the programme would address the growing need for more talented professionals in the thriving F& B sector.

“We aim to produce students who are able to operate and manage a food and beverage business successfully and profitably,” she stressed.

Students will be exposed to key industry trends related to culinary and business management through a combination of theoretical and practical learning.

The first five students who enrol for the programme will enjoy a fee rebate worth up to RM3,680.

A fee waiver of RM1,000 will also be offered to other students who sign up for the programme.

Apart from the DFBM, students keen in the hospitality and services industry can also consider the Diploma in Hospitality Business Management, a programme that covers comprehensive knowledge and understanding of business management from the hospitality industry point of view.

The School of Hospitality Management is located at the Wawasan city campus in the heart of George Town, Penang.

It boasts industry- standard food production and pastry kitchens, bakery, restaurant, demo kitchen and other learning facilities.

The college also delivers five other diploma programmes in business, accounting, and computing which award students with the BTEC Higher National Diploma ( BTEC HND) in addition to a DISTED diploma.

These programmes equip students with industry- relevant knowledge and skills to make them highly employable and sought after.

Another collaborative degree available at DISTED is the Bachelor of Psychology ( Hons), delivered in collaboration with HELP University.

The college is a certified gold learning partner for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ( ACCA) professional programme.
