AF­TER three days of shin­ing a spot­light on style ( and par­ty­ing), the Mercedes- Benz Stylo Asia Fash­ion Fes­ti­val ( MBSTYLOAFF) 2016 ended with a colour­ful show­case of the re­gion’s de­sign­ers, fol­lowed by an awards pre­sen­ta­tion.

The night took place at Zouk Kuala Lumpur, where it was billed as a grand cli­max for this year’s edi­tion of MBSTYLOAFF. Amongst those in at­ten­dance were dig­ni­taries, so­cialites, celebri­ties and more.

“Mercedes- Benz is proud to stand hand- in­hand with Stylo through­out this year’s fes­ti­val as we con­tinue to sup­port the Malaysian and Asian fash­ion in­dus­try, and the cre­ative peo­ple who make it all hap­pen,” said Mark Raine, vice pres­i­dent of sales and mar­ket­ing for Mercedes- Benz Malaysia.

Datuk Nancy Yeoh, pres­i­dent and CEO of Stylo In­ter­na­tional, added: “Through Stylo’s part­ner­ship with Mercedes- Benz, we hope to en­cour­age and pro­mote more undis­cov­ered Asian fash­ion tal­ents to the global fash­ion arena.”

Fash­ion de­sign­ers from Bhutan, In­done­sia, Thai­land, Pak­istan and Malaysia opened the event with cre­ations that com­bined both her­itage and moder­nity. House of Chimmi De­sign for ex­am­ple, used rich and com­plex Bhutanese tex­tiles to great ef­fect.

While Artina ( In­done­sia) and Su­mate Clas­sic Of Mod­els ( Thai­land) in­cor­po­rated the tra­di­tional ae­thet­ics from their coun­tries of ori­gin into their de­signs, Shairose Ex­clu­sive Out­fits ( Pak­istan) sent out ready- to- wear pieces that were more con­tem­po­rary in feel.
