Market your themes
You will be able to sell your themes to a global audience on Line starting late next month.
LINE will soon be expanding its Creators Market to include themes on its messaging platform. Set to go live late next month, users will be able to design and sell their creations.
Anybody who has a Line account, be it individual or enterprise, can create themes which, after passing the review process, can be sold to Line users all over the world through the app’s theme shop and Line store online.
Theme prices can be set by the creator at 150 Line Coins ( about RM12), 200 Line Coins ( about RM16) or 250 Line Coins ( about RM20).
After deducting Apple’s and Google’s 30% handling fee, half of the remaining amount will be paid to the creator – essentially the creator will get 35% of the total sale.
The themes can be based on photos and illustrations. As various graphic elements, such as backgrounds, icons and menu buttons are made as separate parts and combined into a set, creators have a lot of freedom in turning their ideas into themes.
Also, users who have already created stickers can use it in their themes, and artists and entertainers will be able to feature characters or caricatures in their promotional and merchandising activities.
Theme submissions for review are expected to start on April 15, and the sale of approved themes will start late next month.
The Creators Market already allows users to sell their stickers – the company claims it has 520,000 registered creators who have made over 230,000 sticker sets.
