The Star Malaysia - Star2 - - EDUCATION GUIDE -

THE Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation ( APU) is among Malaysia’s Premier Private Universities, and is where a unique fusion of technology, innovation and creativity works effectively towards preparing professional graduates for the competitive corporate market globally.

APU has earned an enviable reputation as an award- winning university through its achievements in winning a host of prestigious awards at national and international levels.

With an international student community of more than 110 countries studying in the Malaysian campus, APU offers a truly cosmopolitan learning environment that prepares students well for the global challenges ahead.

APU offers a wide range of degrees with technology as a common core. It is APU’s aim to nurture and encourage innovation through programmes, with the intention of producing individuals who will learn, adapt and think differently in new, better ways. Being a university student can be one of your most exciting expeditions.

APU integrates fun and creativity into regular- based learning, both inside and outside the classroom.

Higher education opens up a world of new ideas, intellectual growth, social, sporting and cultural activities, new adventures and the building of lifelong friendships.

APU has more than 40 clubs and societies and the student life is lively and unique. It encourages its students to explore educational experiences and the wide range of social, sporting and cultural activities on campus.

Besides that, APU lecturers and staff are always willing to facilitate and guide the students. APU offers many opportunities to get involved in student life such as:

> Becoming a member of a club or society or start your own – an ideal way to make new friends, endless entertainment and learning.

> Making a difference by standing for election in the Students’ Representative Council.

> Working while studying – APU has on- campus, part- time working opportunities for students as library assistants, IT lab technical assistants, programmers, multimedia developers, or as student ambassadors.

Those selected get hands- on experiences in working with those of diverse culture, inducing a corporate working environment in their mindset even before graduation.

Besides that, the students are also constantly exposed to professional and personal development free workshops, designed to acquire necessary skills and attributes needed to become highly demanded graduates in the market.

These are just a few ways for you to make your time at APU as fulfilling and exciting as possible.

Having a university degree is no longer a guarantee of securing a highly paid job, but both the experience and the ability to contribute to the organisation are mainly demanded by employers.

Upon completion at APU, graduates are awarded a degree in association with Staffordshire Unversity, plus the experience and professionalism required for a successful career.

APU’s long- term mission and vision is to provide access to world- class education to a broad spectrum of Malaysian students.

As part of its continuous efforts to provide better opportunities to pursue higher education at Malaysia’s award- winning university, APU offers deserving and talented school- leavers a wide range of merit scholarships.

All SPM, STPM and UEC students who are eligible can apply accordingly.

APU also provides East Malaysia Community Scholarships to SPM, STPM and UEC Qualifications from Sabah and Sarawak schools.
