Electronic waste ( e- waste) in landfills poison the earth, and improper recycling of such wastes poisons people.

Malaysians throw away one million tonnes of e- waste a year and most of it is ending up in landfills or is being improperly recycled.

Legislation next year will regulate how consumers dispose of their e- waste.

Apart from recycling, old electronic gadgets can be donated to organisations that will refurbish them and donate them to the underprivileged.

Over 1,000 orang asli kids have been trained do both hardware and software refurbishment since 2008 at Sols Tech.

There are schemes already in place to get rid of your e- waste properly so there is no excuse not to.
