SUMMIT USJ mall this year looks towards the ornate styles of both Moroccan and Turkish designs, with the intention to bring out a cheerful, entertaining atmosphere.

Summit USJ’s general manager Mohd Azhan Che Mat explained that creating such an atmosphere is a way to give to the people the feeling of enjoyment during Aidilfitri.

Every weekend, there will be live Raya music performances, cultural dances and activities for kids.

Mohd Azhan said this was the first time in eight years since Summit USJ has held a live band – that will hold performances during certain weekends.

The live band will not only play Raya songs but also engage patrons in exciting activities.

“We wanted something they (the patrons) can appreciate, where they can watch and enjoy – and helps create a happy mood,” he said.

The Raya Live Music Performance will take centrestage on June 17, July 1, 2 and 8.

The Raya Cultural Dance will be performing on June 18, while the Kids Raya Dance will take place June 24, 25 and 26.

Without fail every year, Summit USJ will offer festive packets for different festivals and this Raya is no different.

This year, with every purchase of RM100 and above in a single receipt, Summit USJ shoppers can redeem attractive raya packets by Summit USJ.

There is also an additional reward for customers – with a purchase of RM200 and above in a single receipt, shoppers can receive an attractive Glass Canister Set – great for holding cookies and goodies for Raya visitors.

This comes in a sleek attractive

plastic box.

“We decided to do this something different this year, as we also believe that families prefer household items,” explained senior marketing manager Wivien San.

“Nowadays, people don’t display a large container set for all the kuihs – they prefer small individual pieces that look grand and elegant as a set of a few pieces together,” added Mohd Azhan.

Besides stage activities, there are also all kinds of sales: from the Hari Raya Fashion Fiesta running now to June 18; a Toy World Raya Sale running till June 20; the IO One Jean Fair and the Solight Raya Fair, both ending on July 2; the Flea-esta, which runs every Sunday; and soon, a Raya Fashion Warehouse Sale from June 23 to July 2.

Mohd Azhan said his team planned the activities because they know there are many other activities available – they seem to have narrowed down on the attraction of sales.

Shoppers will be pampered with even more sales such as the special daily Raya Bazaar Ramadan with its range of clothes, fruits, kuih and more are available till June 24.

All these sales are also in conjunction with Summit USJ’s mega-sales and have discounts up to 70%.

The management team reserves the right to change or cancel any of the promotions, should unforeseen events occur.

Terms and conditions also apply for both the Raya packets and glass canister set.

The Moorish designs greet shoppers as they drive up to Summit USJ mall.
