A new chapter

THE Thierry Mugler perfume division has begun a new chapter in its history with Aura, a fragrance designed to awaken women's innermost instincts.

Powerful, addictive, animalic and sensual, this new fragrance is also available as a body lotion and shower gel.

Aura combines animalic and botanical nuances. This new perfume, whose name starts once again with “A”, just like Alien and Angel, is a monumental joint effort between several people.

Those involved include Sandrine Groslier, the Thierry Mugler chairwoman, Pierre Aulas, the olfactory artistic director, and the four perfumers Daphne Bugey, Amandine Clerc Marie, Christophe Raynaud, and Marie Salamagne.

A fragrance with three hearts

Aura is designed to be an olfactory experience, a means of self-discovery. It is based on three interconnected hearts. The instinctive heart (Tiger Liana) echoes the botanical heart (rhubarb leaf and orange blossom) and the carnal heart (Bourbon vanilla pod and wolfwood).

Aulas explained that they were returning to animalic notes, but in a modern way, without incorporating the raw materials used at the beginning of the century. He said that they had used botanical elements for animalic purposes and reinvented the family of tropical green notes in the Mugler style. He explained that botanical raw materials were used. And that they successfully brought together the two kingdoms.

In perfect harmony with the perfume's sillage and inspiration, the bottle – as with all Thierry Mugler fragrance flasks – will not fail to make an impact. This piece of art was designed by Mugler himself, and then brought to life by a sculptor.

The magnetic emerald green bottle is shaped like a multi-faceted heart which captures the light, and is topped with a metal “M”.
