KNOWN as the ultimate brand that pilots, astronauts, deep-sea divers and bomb disposal squads rely on, Bell & Ross watches are made to withstand the most demanding and rugged conditions.

With time being of essence for these professionals, every design detail on a Bell & Ross is embedded for a reason. There is no space for frivolity.

Created in 1992 by Bruno Belamich and Carlos A. Rosillo – from which the brand name is derived – Bell & Ross draws its inspiration from the history of aviation and the military specifications that accompany it, each time carrying out a technical or visual feat to produce an instrument of the highest quality.

Belamich, an industrial designer, partnered with Rosillo, a businessman, and worked with a team of watch designers and aeronautical control panel specialists to create timepieces perfectly suited for professional use, meeting the demands of men facing extreme situations.

The watches are created under three collections, namely Vintage, Instrument and Marine.

Its newest instrument pieces are the Bell & Ross BR S-92 for women, which is powered by the BR-CAL.302 calibre, and BR 03-94 for men which is supported by the BR-CAL.301 automatic mechanical movement.

The BR S collection was introduced in 2008, appealing to women, with the “S” indicative of a smaller, sleeker and smarter design at 39mm diameter.

Conforming to the brand’s DNA, the BR 03 range was engineered specifically for men in military. Interestingly, this range has also attracted a strong female following.

The BR S-92 and BR 03-94 incorporate a date positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock, and they are both water resistant for up to 100 metres.

Both models also adopt the brand’s signature square shaped case made of satin-polished steel, complete with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass.

They come in a black or blue dial, including metal skeleton Superluminova-filled hour and minute hands.

The difference between the Bell & Ross BR S-92 and BR 03-94 is that the latter includes the chronograph function that provides a 30-minute timer at 9 o’clock, and a tachymeter scale on the flange.

The BR S-92 comes in a 39mm diameter and a black or blue alligator strap, with a pin and buckle clasp, while the BR 03-94 comes in a 42mm diameter and a choice of black leather or blue calfskin strap.

The BR S-92 in black steel comes in a 39mm diameter and is smaller and sleeker, appealing to women.
