An inspiring pathway
INSPIRED by excellent tradition of academia, Abbey Cambridge is a highly successful GCSE and A-Level college. In 2016, it continues to perform as one of the best sixth-form colleges in the country with A-Level grades of 29% A*, 61% A*-A and 83% A*A/B. This staggering pass rate has been held consistently, exceeding 80% in the last 11 years for grades A*-B and 60% or above for grades A*-A in the last 10 years. This has enabled a vast majority of students to progress to the ‘Russell Group’ of leading UK universities, firmly consolidating Abbey Cambridge's position as a top ranked Independent Sixth Form College in Cambridge.
As an international college where 97% of the student body comes from overseas, international students have the privilege to study alongside locals, allowing them to enhance their English language skills and adjust to life in the UK. It also provides openings to learn beyond the curriculum and stretch themselves to broader horizons through various activities offered by the college.
To meet the very high demand for places at Abbey Cambridge, an outstanding new college campus officially opened in September 2016 featuring state-of-the-art facilities.
Abbey College Cambridge Academic Vice Principal, Dr Lucy Sweatman has revealed that the secret of their students’ success is largely attributed to the pre-degree diploma that provides students UCAS and Careers advice, nurture their love of learning and equip them with transferable skills such as communication and research skills. The pre-degree diploma is divided into different learning areas and student activities vary accordingly.
