NO uni offers? UK UCAS Clearing 2017 opens now. Have you (or your children, grandchildren, friend, friend’s children and such) ever thought of studying in the UK? Feeling overwhelmed with questions and unsure of how to go about applying? Feeling stressed without any offers and rejection by the universities?
Have no fear, JM Education Group is here – UK UCAS Clearing period is available from July to September. It isn’t too late to submit your application to study in the UK for this September. DO you have finals next week? Here are some tips that will help you learn quickly.
Skim through the textbook and highlight important ideas. This should consist of headings, subheadings and certain images, not actual blocks of text. For example, if you’re studying Ancient Egyptian History, you might highlight: the Nile, the Pyramids and the Cleopatras.
Survey: Turn the highlighted parts into exam questions:
Basically, you imagine what the essentials are. Don’t bother with identifying answers yet, just think what is likely to come up. For the Nile questions might include: how long is it, where does it flow, and what’s special about this particular river.
Take a look at the text and find answers to your questions. Just highlight them and then move on. For example, you’d be looking at information that says the Nile is 6,853km long, moves through 11 countries, and it overflows its banks once a year, depositing rich soil that helped Egypt become a huge agricultural power in the Ancient World.
Look at the text: Convert your highlighted text into notes:
Make cards but write in bullet notes and make mnemonics so it’s easy to remember all the points. For the Nile question, you need an image of the Nile with 6853, so you remember the length.
Now take your cards and go through them. Memorise them until the facts sink in and you’ll start to think about the actual content.
Go through the cards:
