Dominate your game
GAMERS and e-sports athletes, prepare to dominate the competition with HP’s latest gaming machines.
The new Omen line features two laptops – 15in and 17in – and a desktop that the company claims have been redesigned and re-engineered from the ground up.
According to HP, upgradability was one of the main pillars in the construction of the Omen gaming machines. Running on Windows 10 Home, the desktop can be configured with two high-performance graphics cards – either dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or dual Radeon 580 – and comes with up to 16GB RAM.
For the processor, users get to pick either a 7th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 – and both are unlocked for overclocking to handle the most demanding games. The price for the desktop starts at RM5,999.
As for the laptops, both models are powered by a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor.
The 15in model can be configured with up to Radeon RX 550 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 while the 17in model can be equipped with up to Radeon 580 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070.
Both laptops come with an improved display with antia glare coating and refresh rate of 120Hz, and can be upgraded from the default 1080p to 4K.
When designing the Omen laptops, one of the components that HP focused on was temperature control.
The laptops feature a high-performance cooling system to reduce the risk of throttling and ensure continuous gameplay.
The aluminium dragon-red backlit keyboard is optimised for gaming – the WASD keys are accented and feature white backlight so gamers can easily identify them. The touchpad also supports multi-touch gestures.
Also, the laptops feature stereo speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen for an immersive gaming experience.
Their unique design of the machines is inspired by fighter jets and spacecraft, according to HP.
The machines are also powerful enough for VR (virtual reality) gaming.
The 15in laptop goes for RM4,499 and 17in model for RM8,899.
