For superior performance and to outgun “normal cars” on the road, luxury cars are fitted with smooth-running and big, beefy engines.
Check out the 2017 BMW M760Li xDrive which gives a debut to the new M Performance TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder petrol engine.
Concealed under a cover bearing “M Performance” lettering, the monstrous 6.6-litre V12 develops output of 610hp at 5,500rpm and peak torque of 800Nm at 1,500rpm.
Power transfer is via the state-ofthe-art eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission as standard.
On sections of Germany’s autobahn with no speed limit, this means the M760Li xDrive can hit an electronically limited top speed of 250kph.
If the optional M Driver’s Package is specified, the speed limiter doesn’t cut in until 305kph.
Being powerful also means that engines are never stressed out and can deliver vibration-free performance and effortless wafting.
