Connectivity and personalised services

The Star Malaysia - Star2 - - World Of Luxury -

Owning a luxury car also means being in a world of enhanced connnecvity on-the-go and customised services that make your life easier.

BMW Malaysia offers BMW ConnectedDrive and also, Concierge Services for owners of selected car models.

This allows the BMW owner to access the Internet in the car, receive, read and reply to e-mail, find the best restaurants in town with recommendations from BMW Online, and with the aid of My Info/Send to Car, take the most important addresses, telephone numbers or short messages into the car.

As for BMW Concierge Services, available with selected models such as the 430i Coupé M Sport, the BMW owner gets access to assistance from BMW Call Centre Agents which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Help can be provided for needs such as looking for the nearest cash dispenser, an on-duty pharmacist, booking a hotel room or useful information on travel destinations. When looking for a specific location, the BMW Call Centre can offer advice and send the address details straight to the car’s navigation system.

In the near future, luxury could even mean fully automated intelligent self-driving cars to where passengers just need to say the location they want to go and the car will do the rest.

In the BMW Group’s RollsRoyce Vision Next 100 concept, the owner is driven by artificial intelligence in a spacious cocoon.

There are no steering wheel, clunky control buttons and switches, busy dashboard, and foot pedals.

Codenamed 103EX and powered by an electric powertrain, the two-seater self-driving car is voice controlled by occupants seated on a silk-covered sofa, facing a transparent OLED screen.

Besides driving the car, the 103EX’s artificial intelligence is expected to advise owners on itineraries, schedules and options, and remind them about appointments and tasks, and make helpful suggestions.
