Odd Or Not: 65yo Chinese Man In Segamat Flips Roti Canai
Star2.com’s biggest story of the week was on Chang Wah Tey from Segamat, Johor. The 65-year-old ex-rubber tapper quit the plantations to open his own coffeeshop almost 20 years ago – all for the love of roti canai. Chief reporter Majorie Chiew, who spoke with Chang, says she found him through a food blogger and thought the idea of “Chinese roti canai” was unusual. “He sounds like he really loves his roti,” she says.
Chang Wah Tey, 65, loves roti canai so much that he learnt to make it from a mamak friend before he started his own shop.
