SHOOTING is making a night owl out of actor Francois Arnaud (seen here with co-star Sarah Ramos), as the 10-episode supernatural series mostly takes place after dark. “It was very fun, but it was also gruelling because, being a genre horror show with vampires, a lot of it was shot at night and we’d wrap at 7am or 8am, five times a week,” he shares his filming experience with Collider.com. “That was difficult. I’m not a day-sleeper. By the end of it, they didn’t have to do much make-up on me to make me look tired.”
is based on Charlaine Harris’s book series of the same name. (Harris also wrote series which inspired the hit TV show, The show is set in a small town in Texas called Midnight where many vampires and supernatural creatures live. Protagonist Manfred, played by Arnaud, is a psychic who’s on the run from a mysterious man and seeks refuge in the town. As the veil between the living and the dead is thin here, Manfred has to learn to better control his psychic abilities. The 32-year-old Canadian actor – who is best known for his work in the 2011 historical fiction series – shares about portraying Manfred: “It felt good to play a character that’s not so skillful, and that can be a bit of a goof and a little bit clumsy.
