GET your tissues ready. Kau Takdirku is a sad love story where a man has to watch the woman he loves get married to his best friend.
Just when you think men are not sensitive enough, you see Remy Ishak, as the heartbroken man, sitting in a car in anguish while trying to get over his feelings. Sob.
Kau Takdirku offers gorgeous underwater scenes and some viewers will swoon over the romantic scenes between Bront Palarae and Ezzaty Abdullah as their characters fall in love, get married and go on their honeymoon.
But Kau Takdirku suffers from the crime of montage overuse. Every time, I hear the movie’s theme song coming up, my enthusiasm for the story just goes out the window.
It doesn’t help that the story unfolds in a bizarre, uneven pacing. Don’t even get me started on the ridiculous ending where a pair of lovers bicker in the middle of the ocean while another man is having a seizure. Just don’t.
As a result, Kau Takdirku leaves a lot to be desired. – AY
