Happy Death Day

The Star Malaysia - Star2 - - Showbiz -

COLLEGE girl Teresa (Jessica Rothe) is killed by a masked murderer on her birthday, only to wake up to relive the same dreadful day over and over again.

Hapless Teresa has a chance to solve her murder, with the knowledge she gains from every day that she dies. But what happens when our girl gets nowhere and keeps waking up weaker and weaker every time as her injury leaves a mark on her body?

At the beginning, you do want Teresa to die because she’s self-centred and treats her friends like trash.

Then, as the movie progresses, emphasising its message about second chances, you see a different side to Teresa and start to root for her to beat the killer.

Happy Death Day has some brilliant moments of self-aware humour and thrilling chase sequences. Overall, it’s a perfect no-brainer movie. – Angelin Yeoh
