THE International University of MalayaWales (IUMW) is a Malaysian Qualifications Agency-accredited university founded upon the collaborative efforts of the University of Malaya (UM) and the University of Wales, UK (UW).

It seeks to bring together the finest academia from two continents and leverages on the best of both worlds.

UM significes a true Malaysian legacy that has produced some of the most influential people in the nation.

As the country’s first university, it also has a rich history in the landscape of national progress.

The recent world rankings have seen UM ranked among the top 120 universities in the world.

Meanwhile, UW was founded in 1893 by the Royal Charter in the UK. The university has stood the test of time and produced thousands of successful alumni, many of whom have made fundamental contributions to society.

Today, UW remains one of the most memorable game-changers for higher education in the UK.

With Prince Charles as chancellor, the university is entrenched in Welsh heritage and is the epitome of a royal culture.

As a heritage symbol for both UM and UW, IUMW upholds the quality, elegance and prestige that have been passed down from generation to generation since its inception.

In solidarity, the university moves forward with panache and verve by cultivating the progress of generations to come.

IUMW takes its cue from the immortal words of human rights activist Malcolm X: “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

IUMW is one of the first universities in Malaysia to offer an educational package in true synergy of the strong academic forces in both Malaysia and the UK.

In just one admission, students can obtain two degrees via the unique Dual Award programme and study at three universities: IUMW, UM and UW.

The Dual Award programme also paves the way for students to spend a semester at UM and UW.

Its internationally recognised degrees provide students with affordable and quality education through visiting lecturers from UW and UM.

The IUMW experience transforms students into lifelong learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to conquer the world.

IUMW is strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and is easily accessible by public transport. It is also minutes away from world-class shopping complexes, sprawling gardens and Malaysia’s finest attractions.

With a 14-acre (5.7ha) city campus, IUMW offers a wide range of facilities to support students’ learning experience.

A library with a massive array of titles and online resources, a state-of-the-art auditorium, lecture halls, seminar rooms, a cafeteria, and fully-equipped laboratories provide students with everything they need for a well rounded education.

Students will also have full access to UM, which is located 15 minutes away. This means getting to tap into a world-class library, online resources, hi-tech science labs and a wide range of sports facilities.

Furthermore, students will have access to the huge database of digital resources owned by UW.

To learn more about IUMW, visit the booths during the upcoming Education and Further Studies Fair and the Facon Education Fair later this month.

In addition, drop by the IUMW campus during its Open Days from April 6-8.

IUMW is one of the first universities in Malaysia to offer an educational package in true synergy of the strong academic forces in Malaysia and the UK.

IUMW is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur amid lush greenery and a stunning backdrop of skyscrapers.
