New Mazda SUV to boost Bermaz Auto sales
PETALING JAYA: Bermaz Auto Bhd expects the new Mazda CX-5 five-seater SUV (sport utility vehicle) to hit monthly sales of 500 to 600 units.
“The CX-5 is our primary model. It contributes to about half of our sales. The trend in the domestic car market is strong demand for SUVs, and we are focusing on improving our market share in this segment,” said Bermaz Auto CEO Datuk Seri Ben Yeoh at the car’s launch at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
Bermaz Auto is the distributor of Mazda cars and spare parts in Malaysia and the Philippines.
The CX-5 comes in five variants, consisting of two 2.0-litre petrol, a 2.5-litre petrol, and two 2.2-litre diesel models.
On the road prices without insurance are RM134,605.50 (2.0-litre GL petrol), RM148,605.50 (2.0-litre GLS petrol), RM160,996.70 (2.5-litre GLS petrol), RM164,579.10 (2.2-litre GLS diesel 2-wheel drive) and RM175,179.10 (2.2-litre GLS diesel all-wheel drive).
All new Mazda vehicles (except the BT-50 pick-up truck) registered from Feb 1, 2017 enjoy a five-year or 100,000 km (whichever is first) manufacturing warranty and three-year or 60,000 km free maintenance after-sales package.
“We are confident the new CX-5 will be well accepted by SUV buyers, just like the previous model,” said Yeoh.
Yeoh pointed out that the new CX-5 has many premium comfort and safety features.
“It is fun to drive, comfortable and well-packaged, has a soft luxurious interior and an attractive after-sales package,” he said.
