At­lan profit up on au­to­mo­tive con­tri­bu­tion

PETALING JAYA: At­lan Hold­ings Bhd, which has busi­nesses rang­ing from the re­tail­ing of duty-free goods and prop­erty in­vest­ment to au­to­mo­tive man­u­fac­tur­ing and hospi­tal­ity, posted a slight im­prove­ment in its net profit to RM9.64mil for the sec­ond quar­ter ended Aug 31 com­pared with the same quar­ter a year ago on higher con­tri­bu­tions from the au­to­mo­tive man­u­fac­tur­ing busi­ness.

The com­pany said in a stock-ex­change fil­ing that rev­enue was down marginally at RM199.35mil for the quar­ter un­der re­view on the drop in con­tri­bu­tions from ev­ery busi­ness seg­ment ex­cept the au­to­mo­tive man­u­fac­tur­ing seg­ment.

For the first half, the com­pany posted a 16.61% drop in net profit to RM21.07mil com­pared with the same pe­riod last year, while rev­enue was 3.41% lower at RM416.66mil.

In a sep­a­rate an­nounce­ment, the com­pany said it has pro­posed to pay a sec­ond in­terim sin­gle-tier div­i­dend of five sen per share.
