Atlan profit up on automotive contribution
PETALING JAYA: Atlan Holdings Bhd, which has businesses ranging from the retailing of duty-free goods and property investment to automotive manufacturing and hospitality, posted a slight improvement in its net profit to RM9.64mil for the second quarter ended Aug 31 compared with the same quarter a year ago on higher contributions from the automotive manufacturing business.
The company said in a stock-exchange filing that revenue was down marginally at RM199.35mil for the quarter under review on the drop in contributions from every business segment except the automotive manufacturing segment.
For the first half, the company posted a 16.61% drop in net profit to RM21.07mil compared with the same period last year, while revenue was 3.41% lower at RM416.66mil.
In a separate announcement, the company said it has proposed to pay a second interim single-tier dividend of five sen per share.
