MDEC sees RM544mil more rev­enue

NI­LAI: The Malaysian Dig­i­tal Eco­nomic Corp (MDEC) is tar­get­ing an ad­di­tional rev­enue of RM544mil next year from its “e-Usa­hawan” and “e-Rezeki” pro­grammes, says chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Datuk Ng Wan Peng.

She said to reach this tar­get, MDEC would train 150,000 new par­tic­i­pants for both pro­grammes.

“We will reach the tar­get via the “#You Can Duit” cam­paign. We have trav­elled the length and breadth of the na­tion to pro­mote in­come gen­er­a­tion through the ‘e-Rezeki' and ‘e-Usa­hawan' pro­grammes.

“We will of­fer free train­ing to par­tic­i­pants so that they can use the knowl­edge to gen­er­ate more on­line in­come for them­selves,” she told Ber­nama.

She en­cour­aged pro­gramme par­tic­i­pants to visit e-Rezeki and e-Usa­hawan cen­tres in their re­spec­tive districts to ob­tain com­puter and broad­band knowl­edge to en­hance their on­line busi­ness.

Ng added that the #YouCanDuit, in­tro­duced to help the lower in­come house­hold sup­ple­ment their in­come, via “e-Usa­hawan” and “e-Rezeki”, had trained 100,008 par­tic­i­pants who had earned a cu­mu­la­tive RM136.6mil since 2015.
