GEORGE TOWN: A good Samaritan was slashed twice on her wrist by two women when she stopped her car to lend them a helping hand during a downpour at Lengkok Bukit Jambul near here.

Utusan Malaysia stringer Malinda Abdul Malik, 23, received seven stitches on her left hand and became RM300 poorer.

Malinda said the women, who were standing next to a motorcycle, flagged her down in the 2.55pm incident yesterday.

She thought the women, believed to be in their 20s, were having a problem with their motorcycle. They were drenched in the rain. “I pitied them since they were women. I was worried something bad might happen to them since it was raining.

“But when I wound down my car window, one of them grabbed my left hand and slashed me with a penknife.

“They then demanded my wallet,” she said.

Fearing for her life, Malinda surrendered the wallet to them. They then threw the wallet back at her after taking the cash.

“It was then that I was slashed a second time on the same hand,” she said.

Malinda has since lodged a police report at the Sungai Nibong police station.
