Mercy Malaysia seeks RM3mil to help refugees

The Malaysian Medical Relief Society (Mercy Malaysia) is seeking RM3mil in donations to provide immediate relief for refugees who fled to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, following violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.

In a statement, it said there was an urgent need for more access to clean water, sanitation, food and shelters.

Following the first Mercy Malaysia team, which has been on site since Saturday, a second mission consisting of an emergency response team will be deployed to Cox’s Bazar today. — Bernama
