State rep helps homeless man in Klang

-

AN elderly man, unkempt and wearing old clothes, has been wandering aimlessly in Kuala Klang over the past few days, Makkal Osai reported.

Passers-by who spotted the homeless man alerted the authorities and the state representative hoping they could provide him with some assistance.

Sentosa assemblyman G. Gunaraj and his assistant set out on the streets to look for the man.

After a frantic search, they found him; among the first thing they did was to give him a proper meal.

Later, they took the man to a local barber for a haircut to get rid of his overgrown hair and beard.

Then with the help of the Sri Raja Rajeswari temple president in Taman Sentosa, the man was given temporary accommodation.

> Villagers in Tamil Nadu, India, who wanted to conduct a wedding ceremony for two trees in the hope of bringing rain were devastated when both trees withered and died before the ceremony, Tamil Nesan reported.

Both trees were planted nearly 60 years ago in the temple compound in the Tiruvarur district village.

But days before today’s wedding, the trees began shedding leaves due to the intense heat and died despite efforts to save them.
