WE all find the odd fairway bunker from time to time, but there is none more magnificent or terrifying than the one on the 14th hole on the Old Course at St Andrews.
The pros tackle this 10ft-deep monster at the British Open head-on and you can learn from their tactics.
As well as being deep, ‘Hell’ – as the hole is known – is wide, meaning that you’ll have two choices: be aggressive and have a go at the flag or take your lumps and content yourself with simply getting it out of the sand and moving on from there.
