Malaysia dedicates song for World Statistics Day
PETALING JAYA: Malaysia is dedicating the song Statistics Bloom in Harmony to the world in conjunction with World Statistics Day 2020.
Malaysia Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the song was free for the entire global community to share.
“The global statistical community are welcomed to play the song at any national or international events.
“The song was composed by Malaysia for the 62nd ISI World Statistics Congress 2019,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The lyrics emphasised the significance of statistics and data for decision-making towards achieving the 2030 Agenda aspirations.
Dr Uzir said he hoped the videoclip provided by the department would serve as a great instrument to improve statistical literacy.
He also hoped it would further strengthen the statistical network, uniting and promoting the importance of sustainable national statistical capabilities in producing reliable and timely statistics, especially to meet the 2030 Agenda.
“Let’s join hands together as a statistical community to promote statistical literacy for evidencebased decision, paving the way for a better life tomorrow, he said in his statement.
“Happy World Statistics Day
2020!”
