Turn for the better
IF you struggle to maintain your posture or load your right side (right-handers) on the way back, it’s not an uncommon fault.
And the good thing is that there is a means to counter this. To deal with it, set up with a cane or the equivalent level with the heel of your back foot and an inch or two clear of your back pocket.
If you are loading your right side (right-handers) efficiently and not swaying, your hip should make contact with the cane.
You should feel pressure in your back leg thigh as the hip joint moves back and around. This move also ensures you retain your set-up posture.
Also, practice with a club across your shoulders to get the feeling of retaining your shoulder angle over a stable lower half as you turn - this is a good thing.
So why not try it out next time you’re at the range.
