AWC bags KL118, two oth­ers jobs worth RM27.5 mil­lion

PE­TAL­ING JAYA: AWC Bhd’s 51% owned en­vi­ron­ment di­vi­sion has bagged a KL118 Tower Project waste-han­dling sys­tem and two sub­con­tract jobs in Tai­wan and In­dia, worth RM27.5 mil­lion.

The KL118 sub­con­tract worth RM10.2 mil­lion is for the im­ple­men­ta­tion of a solid waste-han­dling sys­tem, awarded by Sam­sung C&T Cor­po­ra­tion UEM Con­struc­tion JV Sdn Bhd (for­merly known as KL118 Tower Sdn Bhd).

This is the sec­ond sub­con­tract awarded to AWC for KL118. In Jan­uary this year, AWC’s sub­sidiary Qu­dotech Sdn Bhd was awarded a sub­con­tract for plumb­ing works for the tower project.

Mean­while, the jobs in Tai­wan and In­dia mark AWC’s maiden foray into the two coun­tries.

Awarded by Ever­green Sky Cater­ing Corp, the sub­con­tract in Tai­wan is for the sup­ply, in­stal­la­tion, test­ing and com­mis­sion­ing of a waste-han­dling sys­tem for a new in-flight cater­ing fa­cil­ity at Taoyuan In­ter­na­tional Air­port. The deal is worth RM7.8 mil­lion and is ex­pected to be com­pleted by March 2018.

The sub­con­tract in In­dia worth RM9.5 mil­lion was awarded by Shapoorji Pal­lonji and Co Pte Ltd for the de­sign and sup­ply of an au­to­mated vac­uum waste col­lec­tion sys­tem. The sys­tem is to be in­stalled in the In­te­grated In­dus­trial Town­ship of Greater Noida Ltd un­der the Delhi Mum­bai In­dus­trial Cor­ri­dor. It is ex­pected to be com­pleted by Oc­to­ber 2018.
